Lake Shore has produced many wonderful athletes over the years. Even some that have gone on to play their respective sport at the collegiate level. And with a fair share of offers already there is a high chance that Jon Park will be one of them.

Jon Park is currently a senior at Lake Shore. He has been heavily involved in athletics over his high school career and most of his life. Jon has been playing soccer since he was four years old and has been playing at the varsity level since his sophomore year in high school. Jon has been the star goalie on the team standing 6’7″, weighing in at 200 lbs. He has made it near impossible for other teams to score. For his star performance he has been awarded with the MVP award.

Winter is really where Jon shines. Jon has also been playing basketball at the varsity level since his 10th grade year as the star center for the team, and has been playing basketball for almost a decade. “It clears my mind and makes me think about what is important to me” Jon responded after I asked him why basketball was his favorite sport. Jon has continuously been a dominant force in his league with his large frame and athletic ability. He has averaged a double-double, (double digits in at least two of the five major statistical categories, Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, or Blocks) and he also won the MVP award in his Sophomore and Junior years of basketball.

Jon has also participated in Track and Field in the spring which he has excelled in too. His major events being the triple jump and the high jump. Both his sophomore and junior year he went to ECIC’s and Sectionals for both the triple and high jump events.

Even in the off-season Jon continues to play summer league basketball and participates in any basketball tournament he can find along with AAU basketball. Along with all of this off-season basketball he has won the Gus Macker tournament twice with his friends Jay Breuckl and Nate Brawdy in the summers of 2015 and 2016.

When Jon isn’t playing basketball he likes to hang out with his friends, play video games, and eat food. Jon has stayed busy playing sports throughout his high school career and proves to be one of Lake Shore’s finest athletes.
