One of the many clubs Lake Shore has to offer is the Donate Life Club, which is advised by Mrs. Roseanne Schaller. The club works to sponsor two blood drives throughout the school year. One in the first semester, and another in the second semester. This year’s first blood drive was on December 19th.  The clubs president, Haley Crosta, works hard alongside Mrs. Schaller and the rest of the club to plan the blood drives, and what goes into them. Haley is a senior, and takes pride in this club, she works hard on finding people to donate.

Three months went into planning for the December blood drive. When asked if the event was stressful, Haley says, “No, the people at UNYTS really helped to make sure it was stress free for everyone.” There was 70 usable donations to which Haley says, “It’s great because it helps UNYTS directly.” The club used a Sabres jersey and tickets “as a incentive to get more people to donate.” It was a good turn out, and Haley and the club wants everyone to “Stay tuned for the next blood drive coming up on May 1st!”

One blood donation can save potentially up to three lives. Blood is always needed, so please consider donating at the next blood drive. Anyone interested should talk to Haley or any other Donate Life Club members to get more information. Information about giving blood is also available on the UNYTS website.
