COVID-19: A Poem

COVID-19
-Kylee Mackiewicz
All schools are out due to Covid-19,
Now most of the world is in Quarantine.
I’m free to sleep in and do as I please,
As long as no one sees me cough or sneeze.
Toilet paper is gone, all shelves are bare;
I’m seeing gloves and face masks everywhere.
I’m suddenly filled with anxiety;
It feels like ‘Walking Dead’ in my city.
No movies, no mall, no basketball game;
This “extended spring break” seems pretty lame.
Will I make it to Prom or walk that stage?
I’m searching for answers and filled with rage.
So inside I’ll sit, creating some art,
Spending my senior year 6 feet apart.
